Build a Stronger Family. Lead a Stronger Business. Protect the Legacy You Created.
You’ve Looked at Every Angle, But the Tension Still Mounts.
You’re not failing. Maybe you're solving the wrong problem.
Authority Without Alignment
Communication Without Safety
Succession Without Readiness
Focused. Structured. Relationally Intelligent.
You may have already tried family conversations, business meetings, mediation, weekly therapy, executive coaching, or simply promising one another that things will be different.
But when family history, emotional injury, leadership authority, and business operations are all interacting at once, ordinary conversations often cannot hold the complexity.
A family-business intensive creates protected time to slow the system down, identify what is actually driving the conflict, and address the relational and operational dynamics together.
"When the Pattern Becomes Visible, the Family Can Stop Fighting the Wrong Problem"
Identify the relational loop that repeatedly disrupts decision-making.
Separate family roles from business roles without dismissing either.
Protect the business from the escalating cost of unresolved family conflict.
Establish a follow-up structure that reduces regression after the intensive.

How Intensives Work
When family members are also owners, leaders, employees, spouses, siblings, or successors, you need a process that can hold emotional complexity without losing operational focus.
Every intensive is customized to the family, the business, and the decisions that need to be made.
1. Assessment and Preparation
Participants complete individual interviews, assessments, preparation questions, or organizational documents before the intensive begins.
We begin by gathering the relational, operational, and historical context needed to understand what is happening, why previous solutions have not held, and what the intensive must accomplish.
2. One-Three Day Private Intensive
Intensives are typically held over one to three days in a private, structured setting in our office in Atascadero, CA.
We identify and repair the relational patterns disrupting the family system, leadership, trust, and succession, then translate that understanding into clearer roles, healthier communication, and practical structures that support both the family and the business.
3. Operationalize
Insight is translated into structures the family can use.
We convert the family’s new understanding into concrete agreements, operating structures, and an implementation plan that brings greater clarity, accountability, and stability to both the family and the business.
The structure keeps you safe. The pace helps you heal. The outcome is freedom that lasts.
Testimonials
Real People. Real Change.
Hi, I'm Christin Frederick, LMFT.
I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist who works at the intersection of family relationships, leadership, nervous-system regulation, and organizational functioning. In a family-owned company, conflict is rarely only about the budget, the employee, the property, the compensation plan, or the succession timeline. These decisions carry emotional meaning. They can activate questions of belonging, trust, fairness, loyalty, recognition, competence, and legacy. My work is designed to make those invisible dynamics visible—without reducing every business problem to emotion or treating every emotional injury as a management issue.I believe many of the patterns families experience as dysfunction began as intelligent attempts to protect the family, preserve the company, or hold things together through difficult seasons.
Guiding families through conflict, trauma, leadership, and relational repair.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this family therapy or business consulting?
It may include elements of both, but it is not a substitute for legal, financial, tax, or governance advice.
The intensive focuses on the relational and behavioral dynamics affecting leadership, communication, decision-making, and succession.
Does everyone in the family have to participate?
No. The right participant structure depends on the issue. In some cases, the work begins with a couple, parent and adult child, or two family leaders. Additional participants may join only when their involvement is useful and the process is adequately prepared.
Will you tell us who is right?
The purpose is not to appoint a winner. The work helps identify what each person is experiencing, how the current pattern is functioning, what impact it is having, and what needs to change for the family and business to move forward.
Accountability is part of the process, but accountability is different from assigning one person all the blame.
Do you take insurance?
Intensives are private pay only. This allows for total confidentiality and flexibility.
Is this appropriate when we are planning succession?
Yes. Succession is not only a financial or legal event. It is also a transfer of identity, authority, responsibility, trust, and family meaning. An intensive can help surface the relational issues that may otherwise delay or destabilize the technical succession process.
Is the intensive confidential?
Yes, within the professional and legal limits reviewed during the preparation process. Because family-business work may involve multiple participants, confidentiality and information-sharing expectations are clarified before the intensive begins.
Do you offer virtual intensives?
No. These are in-person only — the immersive environment is essential for this level of work.
How soon can I schedule?
Openings vary, but most clients can book within 4–6 weeks.
